| About Me |

|
I attended the University of Texas at El Paso. In 1990 I graduated and got a teaching position at Fannin Elementary teaching kindergarten. I've taught Kindergarten, 2nd grade, 3rd grade, and the last ten years I've taught 4th grade, and this will be my third year at Boone.
This year will mark my 20th year of teaching, I have had the opportunity to teach children with handicaps and/or learning disabilities as well as those that are gifted. These experiences have shaped me into the teacher that I am today. It is my belief that all students can learn and it is my responsibility to provide a positive, nurturing, and safe place in which my students can be successful. It is my hope that my students will forever fondly remember their fourth grade experience because I touched their lives in a special way. I truly enjoy teaching fourth graders and being a part of their lives for the brief time that I have them!
My son and I moved to Austin in 2001, so we could be near family and friends. I taught 4th grade at Widén Elementary for six years. I was fortunate enough to be hired as a fourth grade teacher at Boone Elementary for the school year beginning August 2007.
My son graduated and moved to Salt Lake City. I'm now a very proud grandmother to a very beautiful granddaughter.
I married my husband in 2005. We adopted a wild mustang in October 2006 that we are training together. I'm a lover of animals and am lucky enough that my husband indulges me enough to buy me a wide assortment of pets. We have one horse (Edsel), one cat (Q-Tip), one lovebird (Melvin), a Beagle puppy named Toby, and an aquarium full of fish (We just call them fish). I also have a guinea pig named Shadow as a classroom pet.
